Throughout humankindís history, we have worked with the materials that were closest to hand: stone, sand, clay, and a product of all of them: glass. And while these substances might be thousands of years old, there are artists who can still find new ways of dealing with them and creating fresh objects and images. A Bridge of Sand and Clay features the work of 7 local artists, some well-established and some just emerging, but all of whom have taken these ancient techniques and materials and reinterpreted how they can be used and how they can speak to a 21st century audience.
