Follow the Muse is both the business name and philosophical principle that guides the lives and the artistic process of Marc Clements and K. Daphnae Koop.
Marc is an eclectic artist whose Muse has taken him from paintings to stone and wood sculpting, then on to detailed collages in layered resin. His work is informed by his interest in symbology, magic, and myth.
Daphnae is a painter who first builds and carves her heavily textured wood assemblages, then adds inlays of shattered glass, allowing the color, texture, sparkle, and poetic titles to convey the paintings’ themes.
Together, they create jewelry using smooth beach stones gathered on the shores of Lake Superior.
The Voice of the Muse is often elusive; the art of following is the essential focus of their work.

The Gallery
Follow the Muse Gallery space is in the Northrup King Building; the largest art studio building in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. The gallery is dedicated to the creation and exhibition of richly textured and innovative contemporary art, with a focus on art that pushes the boundaries of the materials used in the work’s creation.
