Daphnae: Elaborate Panels
I build my canvases out of reclaimed wood, and of wood that is rough-milled from trees found fallen. My large panels are put together almost quilt-like, with small individual pieces coming together to create a unified whole. Each board is carved with an eye to its placement and personality, creating a unified panel full of texture and visual interest that I can then respond to with the magic of color and complete with the sparkle and texture of shattered glass.
